Inspiration To Winter Express From Textual Construction Of BBC Drama Pride And Prejudice

In 1995,BBC Drama Pride and Prejudice directed by Simon Langton,the famous British director,was shown on TV.It has been widely praised since went out and was nominated for Outstanding Mini-series by The 48^thh Emmy Awards.The Serial is adapted from the novel of the same name by 18^th century British writer Jane Austen.It tells the love story of four couples with the one of hero Darcy and heroine Elizabeth as a clue.The researches on the text so far mostly focus on its characterization and awakening of female consciousness,but less about relationship of characters or reticular structure.Accordingly,this paper analyzes in a new way,from the perspective of textual construction.Meanwhile,the text inspires me a lot,especially affects me on my production of short film Winter Express.Thus,after discussing the characteristics of textual construction based on the theory of Group play by David Bordwell,the American contemporary film theory master,this paper elaborates how BBC Drama Pride and Prejudice affects on Winter Express in textual construction.This paper is divided into four parts.In the 1^st part,it sketches the current research status of Pride and Prejudice,proposes the meaning of the research and the exploration for Winter Express.In the 2^nd part,it put forwards David Bordwell's theory of Group play and characteristics of its textual construction.In the 3^rd part,it in-depth analyzes the situation of textual construction on Group play in the Serial Pride and Prejudice.In the4^th part,it presents that how BBC Drama Pride and Prejudice affects on Winter Express in textual construction,from character set,plot set and construction.
