After the discovery of the new sea route,Portugal,Spain and other countries establishment of overseas colonies,Britain also stepped up its foreign aggression.with the discovery of the Netherlands and the victory of the North American War of Independence,British government began to exiled criminals to Australia in 1788.From then on,Australia has become a British colony of criminal.with a criminal-dominated population,an economy based on land grants and Labour assignments, and the autocracy of the Governor,Which made the social development of early Australia was very incongruous.Since the 1920 s,under the influence of Wakefield's systematic colonial theory, more and more British immigrants have gone to Australia, promoting the rationalization of Australia's population structure and the formation of national economy.More importantly, the industrial spirit of the English nation brought by immigrants was deeply rooted in the soil of Australia, which enables them to start an autonomous movement with the goal of transplanting the British representative system and responsible government when they pursed wealth. This autonomy movement was based on the British autonomy tradition and relied on the political system of the sovereign government. It used the traditional British liberalism and the ready-made legal system as a weapon to abolish the exile system and establish an elected representative government. The government, with a goal of realizing the true autonomy of the colony, spontaneously formed a gradual social transformation.Through this social transformation,Australia has gradually transformed from a colony of criminals into a colony of citizens. From a pathological “over seas prison”,it hasgradually become a new “healthy society”.In this process, the concept of“I am an Australian” has gradually emerged. It has laid a solid foundation for its status as a Dominion.
