Temporal order perception is the perception of persistence and sequence to objective things, and is an important part of time perception.Perceptual organization is one of the important factors that have influence on temporal perception.Based on the shortcomings of previous research, this study used SJ and TOJ tasks to explore the influence of perceptual organization on simultaneity and sequential temporal perception.Meanwhile, this study focuses on the cognitive mechanism of perceptual organization's influence on temporal perception. In this study,a "C" shape picture that composed of three-line segments was used as the experimental material.Experiment 1 used the within-subject research design of 2(organization conditions: perceptual organization,non-perceptual organization)× 7(SOA: 0ms,±15ms,±30ms,±60ms).Experiment 1 requires that the participants need to complete the simultaneous judgment task, analyze the perceived organization condition and the non-perceived organization condition, and judge the differences between frequency and ERP components.Experiment 2 used the within-subject research design of 2(organization condition: perceptual organization,non-perceptual organization)× 6(SOA: ±30ms,±60ms,±120ms).Experiment 2 requires that the participants need to complete the temporal order judgment task, and analyze the differences between the accuracy of temporal order judgment of the perceived organization condition and the non-perceived organization condition and the ERP components. The results are as follows:(1)In the SJ task, the frequency of “simultaneous” judgment under the condition of perceptual organization is significantly higher than that of non-perceptual organizational condition.(2)In the TOJ task, the accuracy of temporal order judgment doesn't have significant differences between the perceptual organization and the non-perceptual organization.(3)In the SJ task, the N1 amplitude caused by the perceptual organization is significantly larger than the non-perceptual organization, and while the SOA is smaller, the amplitude of the component is larger.(4)In the TOJ task, the P1 and N1 amplitudes induced by the perceptual organization are significantly larger than the non-perceptual organization, and while the SOA is smaller, the amplitude of the component is larger. The Conclusion is that Perceptual organization will impair the temporal order perception, which is mainly in the early perception stage of temporal order information processing.
