This thesis conducts an in-depth study of the cross-media narrative in the process of film adaptation of ancient Chinese mythological novels,and analyzes its achievements and deficiencies.From the five aspects of text connotation,character image,audience and technology,the reasons for the continuous adaptation of ancient Chinese mythological novels are discussed.In the process of adaptation,the characteristics of the text have also changed due to the changes of the media.The film and television and gamification adaptation of ancient Chinese mythological novels has become a cross-media narrative phenomenon that cannot be ignored.In the modern adaptation of ancient Chinese mythological novels has experienced three distinct stages,from the original textual texts to the expansion of film and television,and then the innovation of game adaptation.Through combing the media changes of the modern adaptation of ancient Chinese mythological novels,it summarizes the diversification of narrative subjects caused by media changes,the interaction of narrative methods and the three-dimensional changes of narrative symbols.Later,Henry Jenkins' s “cross-media narrative” theory was introduced,based on the three specific texts of “the Classic of Mountains and Rivers”,“the Legend of Deification” and “Journey to the West”,from the three levels of collaborative narrative,world view construction and audience participation in content production.Departure,to analyze the development status of cross-media narratives in ancient Chinese mythological novels.And comparative analysis of the operation mechanism of foreign cross-media narratives,found that there is a big gap between the domestic Chinese ancient mythology novels in text processing,operation and audience interaction and media,and the domestic focus on using different media for narrative Rather than emphasizing the relevance of different types of text.With the continuous development of media technology,Chinese traditional stories have been expanded through film and television technology in the process of cross-media narrative,and text innovation has been carried out in the form of online games.In this process,the narrative subject also adjusts from the original single text to pluralism,the narrative mode gradually moves toward interaction,and the narrative symbol also changes in three dimensions.However,at present,the cross-media narrative of traditional Chinese stories fails to establish a grand world view,the connection between media is slightly weak,and the interaction between operators and audiences is relatively lacking.This paper combines the cross-media narrative framework to think about the cross-media narrative oftraditional Chinese stories,and provides some references for the cross-media narrative of Chinese traditional stories from the aspects of story world construction,media collaboration,audience participation and immersive communication mode.Based on the predecessor theory,this paper attempts to start from the perspective of cross-media narrative theory,using literature research methods,case study methods and other research methods,taking “the Legend of Deification”,“the Classic of Mountains and Rivers” and “Journey to the West” as an example,through the The analysis of the status quo of cross-media narrative in ancient Chinese mythological novels,puts forward relevant suggestions,provides some reference for the development of cross-media narrative of current mythological novels,and has certain practical significance for carrying forward the national traditional culture.
