Taking Yu Gong map as the research object, this paper probes into the preservation and classification of Yu Gong map,and studies it from two angles of drawing and reading. The introduction first defines the concept of Yu Gong map, which is the subject of study, and delimits the scope of the study. It also makes an analysis of the current research situation of Yu Gong map and establishes the research foundation. The first chapter is to sort out the situation of Yu Gong map's preservation and loss in history, inspect the documentary records and the Yu Gong map's handed down from generation to generation, briefly introduce the contents of these maps, and make a brief classification according to the chronological order. At the same time, this chapter also examines the controversial issue of Jia Dan's "Hainei Huayi Map".It is estimated that the "Hainei Huayi Map" does reflect the geographical information of Jiuzhou in "Yu Gong",but it is not the traditional red-black color map.The second chapter divides Yu Gong map into three categories: historical map, national general map and Confucian classics map.Firstly,it explores how Yu Gong map,as the textual image of Yu Gong, presents the sequence of historical maps in the time dimension, depicts the geographical origin of civilization, completes the certification of the national general map space in the space dimension, and affirms the orthodoxy of the national territory;secondly,it returns to the meaning of Yu Gong and explores the implication of "Yu Gong" as a Book of water control. This paper holds that the profound implication of the symbol of "China" contained in Yu Gong map always exists as an ideological resource whenever possible.Chapter three studies the motive of drawing Yu Gong map.Through sorting out several regionalization adjustments based on Jiuzhou of Yu Gong in the Han,Wei and Jin Dynasties,it is concluded that, based on the orthodoxy and sacredness contained in Jiuzhou of Yu Gong, the reappearance of Yu Gong traces in past dynasties has become a deep-rooted tradition, and administrative division can also be regarded as a special Yu Gong map. When it is difficult for real politics to complete the division of Kyushu on the territory,Yu Gong Jiuzhou exists in the form of historical map,National general map and Confucian classics map.Chapter four examines the use and interpretation of Yu Gong map by readers. From the description of the region and Achievements in "Yu Gong",the readers and users of maps first pay attention to the significance of Yu Gong map in river management activities. They believe that Yu Gong map is not just a symbol of Dayu's achievements in water and soil management, but also a principle and model of water management.Secondly,Yu Gong map is also a political geography book, which symbolizes the rule and territory of the sage King. The reading of Yu Gong map also contains the meaning of reading to govern and distinguish Hua Yi.Finally, the reconstruction of Yu Gong map as a ruin links the ruins and traces of nine states in "Yu Gong",and as a complete "Huaxia",triggers the thinking of readers in the era of national division.Chapter five makes a comprehensive study of Yu Gong map,"Chinese Map",which was popular in the Yi dynasty of Korea in the 17 th and 19 th centuries. The officially recognized "Chinese Map" depicts ancient Chinese geographic information and historical sites, which were widely used in the Yi dynasty of Korea from the end of the 17 th century to the end of the 19 th century.Through the analysis of geographical information in eastern Liaoning, such as FengHuang,LiaoDong,ShenYang and GuangNing,we can infer that Korea's Yanjing envoys were closely related to the drawing of this map.In the early Qing Dynasty, the Yi dynasty of Korea continued their recognition of the Ming Dynasty and constantly emphasized that they were a continuation of the Chinese civilization. In the "Chinese Map",through Yu Gong Jiuzhou and the 13 provinces of the Ming Dynasty,an orthodox ideological system was established. At the same time,Yi dynasty of Korea used astronomical and geographic information such as Yashan,Ning Guta and WeiJi to expound the debate of Hua Yi after the dynastic change of Ming and Qing.
