English writing as a basic skill is essential in English learning and teaching.Teachers' written feedback in English writing provides useful advice to learners and develops their ability to think independently.This study was conducted to investigate the English teachers' written feedback in the senior high school.This study analyzed five English teachers' written feedback and interviewed them one by one.In addition,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 183 students they taught in order to investigate the implementation of teachers' written feedback and students' attitude towards teachers' written feedback.The results show that teachers' written feedback includes error correction,negative comments and offering suggestions.Teachers lay more stress on language forms but ignore the feedback on content.In terms of feedback methods,teachers usually check students' writings one by one and offer the direct feedback.Students expect teachers' quick and face-to-face feedback and give more positive comments.In the end,this study puts forward some suggestions for teachers' written feedback to improve the teaching and learning of English writing skills.
