Family issues have long been a concern. As the “first school” for children, the family plays a vital role in the growth and development of children. In view of orphans, abandoned children and children who have not been cared for by parents for a long time,China advocates adopting foster care to protect children's family life.Because the child's psychology is not paid attention to during the fostering process,it is likely to cause secondary harm to the child, causing serious psychological adaptation problems, which may lead to other behavioral problems and even behavioral deviations. Therefore, the concern for foster children is very high necessary. This study uses a person-centered therapy intervention model to treat a foster child with psychological adaptation problems as a client. The author uses the method of case work.Firstly, based on the collected information, the client is asked to assess the needs of the client. It is known that the victim's experience of disintegration and fostering of the original family is lack of security and psychological adaptation problems arise, which leads to problems such as inferiority, denial of oneself, and closure of themselves. In response to the psychological adaptation of the client, the author has developed a corresponding service plan under the treatment of the person-centered therapy.Secondly, the author intervenes in the three stages of “knowing oneself”,“accepting oneself and admiring oneself” and “realizing oneself”.Under the guidance of the author, the client realized the irrational beliefs in his own cognition, and eliminated irrational beliefs, established positive beliefs, and better adapted to life in dealing with family and friends. In the process of achieving this goal, the author gives the client the value of the case.I believe that the client has the ability to solve the problem, guide the case to act, meet the needs of security and love and respect, and encourage the client to achieve himself. Finally, the author conducted a case assessment of the case service.Under the guidance of the author and the cooperation of the client, the client possessed the ability to live in harmony with the surrounding environment, and found his ideal goal. The author believes that it is very meaningful for social workers to intervene in the issue of fostering children. In addition to using government power to standardize training for foster families, and to reduce the incidence of foster children from the root causes,in response to the problem of foster children who have already been born, social workers can be involved to provide individualized and targeted services for foster children. The combination of government power and social worker services enables foster children to grow healthily and happily.
