A Study On The Effectiveness Of Process Writing Approach In Practical English Writing Under The Community Of Practice

With the rising tide of economic globalization,China's contacts with other countries are becoming more frequent than before.And with the increasing frequency of the using of English,more attention needs to be paid to the accuracy,effectiveness and diversity of external information exchange.In view of the current situation of unsatisfactory writing level of college students' practical English writing,it is urgent to find suitable writing methods to help students improve their writing level.In the form of community of practice and according to the writing steps of the process writing approach(pre-writing,writing,revising,rewriting),a three-month writing practice was conducted.Forty college students with different majors was selected to participate in this experiment.Questionnaire,interview and test were used as research tools.The results show that the combination of community of practice and process writing approach changed college students' writing attitude,enhanced their interest and helped them develop good writing habits of practical English writing.The results also show that writing by this new way of combining community of practice and process writing approach was helpful to improve college students' writing ability,and at the same time,their achievements and writing speed were also improved.Through the mutual discussion and revision among the students,the writing contents had also became rich.It was suggested that this new writing mode should be used flexibly in the future.
