This paper studies the characteristics and errors of the acquisition of the tones of Chinese that Bangladeshi college students tend to make.A sample survey was taken at first,having collecting tone data from 20 college students(10 men and 10 women)of different Chinese levels at Confucius Institute at North South University.A total of 1920 tonal samples were used as objects.The basic frequencies of the pronunciation samples were analyzed by using Praat.Then statistics of frequencies were generated and compared with experimental-phonetic data of Putonghua tones,as well as statistics of the duration of the pronunciation,attempting to accurately and objectively assess the pronunciation characteristics and possible errors when Bangladeshi college student utter Chinese words.This article is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction.It mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic,gives an overview of the status quo of Chinese teaching and research in Bangladesh,and clarifies the research objects,research materials,analysis methods and experimental process of the survey.The second part is the analysis of the experimental results of monosyllabic words pronounced by college students in Bangladesh.First,charts of basic frequency of each monosyllabic word were generated,and then types and values of the tones were analyzed and compared with some Putonghua pronunciation samples.The third part is the main part of this thesis.It mainly explores the experimental analysis of the tones of Chinese disyllables uttered by Bangladeshi learners.It examines the statistics and compares them with samples of Putonghua to locate the errors made by Bangladeshi college students.The fourth part is the conclusion,including the general conclusions and deficiencies found in this study.
