A Study Of The Deliberate Metaphor Of Xi Jinping's Storytelling From The Perspective Of Cognition

General Secretary Xi Jinping is a storyteller.Whether it is the speech at the meeting,the conversation at the time of the study,or the speeches on the trip,the articles in the newspaper,he is good at using stories to convey the deep meaning and infect others.These stories are concrete,lively,popular and profound,brimming with "Chinese wisdom" and "Chinese power",but also reflect Xi Jinping's deep humanistic feelings and philosophical background from one aspect,which has become a distinctive feature of his leadership style.The ancients said that "the text is to carry the road." Whether it is a hundred schools of thought or folklore,there are vivid stories in them.Through the story,Xi Jinping told everyone about the "Tao" of Chinese history and culture,the "Tao" of China's reform and development,and the "Tao" of China's great power diplomacy.This thesis studies from the direction of cognitive linguistics,using the emerging deliberate metaphor theory in the academic world,and classifying the stories in the book "Xi Jinping's Storytelling" as a corpus.First,a detailed introduction to the theory of deliberate metaphor,including definitions,features,theoretical assumptions and criteria for judgment.After that,qualitative and quantitative analysis is carried out,and a small closed corpus is built based on the 109 stories in the book.The MIPVU metaphor screening process and the DMIP deliberate metaphor identification step are used to extract the deliberate metaphors in the story,According to the different source domains,the deliberate metaphors are summarized and classified in detail,and analyzed separately.In this part,deliberate metaphor can be roughly divided into eleven categories: natural metaphor,weather metaphor,human metaphor,historical figure metaphor,traditional cultural metaphor,animal metaphor,plant metaphor,thing metaphor,implements metaphor,place metaphor and other metaphors.Each class will be explained in detail in conjunction with specific images to explore the use of deliberate metaphors in the book Xi Jinping's Storytelling and how it can help better express the connotation of the story.Finally,by analyzing the role of deliberate metaphor theory and its promotion of the purpose of the story in Xi Jinping's Storytelling,the importance of deliberate metaphor for political communicative texts is demonstrated.At present,few scholars have carried out related research on deliberate metaphor theory.This thesis uses deliberate metaphor theory and combines the "story" Corpus to carry on the analysis,hoping to enrich the development of deliberate metaphor related research and makes a little expansion to the future research of this theory.
