Research On Market Factors For Forming The Painting Styles Of Folk Painters In The Middle Qing Dynasty

In the middle Qing Dynasty,with the further development of commodity economy,the seed of capitalism gradually sprouted up and art marketization was also gradually improved.In such an overall environment,the group of folk painters(the concept of “folk painter artists” is discussed in the 8th page of the article)became professional artists and traded their own paintings for a living in order to adapt to the changing social environment.By taking the market of paintings as vane,they created based on market demands and gradually formed their own styles of painting.Market factors played a major role in influencing the formation of painting styles of folk painters in the middle Qing Dynasty.Min Zhen,a painter who lived in the folk for a long time,was a typical representative of this type of painters.Based on a case study of Min Zhen,this thesis expounded market factors behind the formation of Min Zhen's painting style.By analyzing the economic environment of the areas where Min Zhen travelled,his social network and the audience of his paintings,this thesis explored the interaction between Min Zhen and the market,analyzed market factors behind the formation of his painting style,and further deduced common market factors that contributed to the formation of the painting styles of folk painters in the middle Qing Dynasty.By referring to related ancient books and literature and recent research results as many as possible,the author supported the view points of this thesis with detailed theories.Based on the case study of Min Zhen,this thesis made an in-depth study of market factors that influenced the formation of painting styles of folk painters,deduced the way in which market factors selected and formed the painting styles of painters,and concluded the influence of market factors on the trend of the circle of Chinese paintings.It is hoped that in the environment of new era,contemporary artists could flexibly create their own painting styles based on market demands so as to better promote the inheritance and development of Chinese paintings.
