The Analysis And Deductive Exploration Of Artistic Characteristics Of Selections From Yu Opera "Mulan"

The long river of China's history and culture is the cradle of the excellent artistic forms of Chinese opera with different styles of arts,of which traditional Yu Opera of Henan is one of the outstanding representatives.In ancient times,Chinese opera was well developed as the mainstream of performing art.Even to this day,it remains the important part of China's national art,worthy to be learnt and researched by artists and art educators.The singing of Yu Opera is able to fully express the inner feelings of the characters with the artistic features of clear articulation,cadence and vividness.Mulan Ashamed to Give Worship is the excerpt,which is the most famous excerpt,from Hua Mulan which is one of the representatives of Chang Xiangyu,the famous performing artist of Yu opera,so I selected it as one of the works I would play in my concert for master degree.In this paper,its creation characteristics,characters and rhythm characteristics were profoundly studied and analyzed to explore the relevantly technical and emotional processing problems that should be paid attention to during the process of performing it.At the end,the writer's treatment and inspiration of performing the work were concluded as well as and the exploration and innovation of Yu Opera's singing in the vocal music were discussed.
