Research On The Current Living Situation Of Meihu Opera Troupe In Linfen City

Founded in 1952,the Meihu Opera Troupe of Linfen City has been actively thriving in Southern Shanxi Province for a long time since its establishment,taking root in the countryside,coming down to the grass-roots level and being close to the masses.It has made important contributions to the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.This paper takes the living status of Meihu Opera Troupe of Linfen City in the past ten years as the research object,investigates its surviving development,membership composition,troupe repertory and performance,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the development about troupe,and then puts forward development strategies.Linfen Meihu Opera Troupe originated from Ronghe County,which is a folk art group organized by enthusiasts of Meihu.Later,it was affiliated to various counties and cities in the South of Shanxi Province,and evolved into a state-run opera troupe supported by local cultural departments while changing its name for many times.In 1985,the Meizhou Opera Troupe of Linfen City carried out the system reform and implemented the contractual contracting economic responsibility system.Since then,the troupe has begun to turn losses into profits and gradually moved out of south Shanxi to the whole country.In 2011,the troupe set up the Linfen City Meihu Opera Research Center.With the support of government policies,the troupe strived to achieve its own transformation and development,independently rehearsed repertoire expanded the performance market and stepped into a higher development space.The members of the Linfen City Meihu Opera Troupe consists of actors,bands and logistics administration.Actor profession is relatively complete.Three generations,old,middle and young,compete with each other and the members of the band have their ownmerits.Although the size of logistics administration is small,it provides an important guarantee for the development of the troupe.Most of the members of the troupe are Linfen and Yuncheng people.The actors and band members come from the two art schools and the surrounding theater groups.The performance income includes basic salary and performance subsidies.At the same time,there are certain difficulties,such as the lack of talents in the choreographer,the uncoordinated ratio of men and women,the obvious income gap and the frequent flow of members.At present,Meihu Opera Troupe of Linfen City held about 20 repertoires every year,including more than 10 large-scale repertoires and about 8 small-scale ones.The troupe pursues "two legs" to walk that combines costume dramas and modern dramas.The performances are generally family ethics,anti-corruption and historical stories.Some of these repertoires are independently produced by the troupe.Some of them are adapted from other repertoires,and some excellent repertoires have been transplanted by other troupes.The performance of the Linfen City Meihu Troupe is concentrated in Linfen,Yuncheng and Sanmenxia,Henan.The peaking performance time is the spring and autumn.The performances include commercial performances of naturally formed by folks,policy performances to promote operas and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the masses by the government,and exchange performances to promote exchanges and development between different opera groups.The performance life and performance income truly reflect the life and living status of the troupe.However,in recent years,the development of the Meihu Troupe has not been going well.Because there are a series of problems such as the shrinking opera market,the sharp decline of the audience and the fierce competition of the troupe,lack of professional talents and few boutique repertoire.In this regard,the troupe should take advantage of the policy,establish a brand effect,and use the advantages of the Internet to achieve its own development.At the same time,the government should guide the sound development of the opera market,build the ecological mechanism of the opera,and promote better development of the opera through the introduction of the opera majors into the campus.In short,through the field visit investigation,collating and researching the livingsituation and development of the troupe,personnel composition,performance repertoire and performance situation,with the help of SWOT analysis method,this article puts forward relatively clear development proposals for the troupe and contributes to the protection and development of local opera,providing a reference for the local cultural department.
