This paper mainly studies the use of Chinese learning strategies of Italian college students.This study consists of two parts.The first part is to investigate the frequency of learning strategies used by Italian college students with learning experience in China and those without learning experience in China,and to explore whether the frequency of six learning strategies used by the two groups 1s different.In the second part,four learners who have come to China to study and four learners who have not come to China to study are analyzed through interviews,and the specific differences in the use of learning strategies are compared and the reasons are analyzed.The first part of the study found that the most commonly used Chinese learning strategies of Italian college students are metacognitive and social strategies,followed by compensation strategies and cognitive strategies,and the less commonly used memory strategies and emotional strategies.The most commonly used strategies are social strategies and metacognitive strategies,followed by compensatory strategies and cognitive strategies,and the least commonly used strategies are memory strategies and emotional strategies.The frequency of learning strategies used by the learners with experience in China is higher than that of the learners without experience in China,and there are significant differences in cognitive strategies,social strategies and compensation strategies between the two groups.The second part of the study found that in terms of cognitive strategies,the similarities between the two groups were that they did not have the habit of-summarizing scntence structure.paid more attention to semantics rather than grammar structure when expressing,and used the method of repeated writing when mastering new words.However,in terms of the diversity of learning resources,the diversity of new vocabulary mastering techniques and the thinking of native speakers,the learners with experience in China are lore dominant.In terms of compensation strategies,the similarities between the two groups are that they are good at using rich body language to co1pensate for the lack of communication.but the learners who have come to China to create new words and guess the meaning of words according to the context are more prominent.In terms of social strategics,the similarities between the two groups lie in that they are good at solving the problem of poor communication by means of colmunication,and they all have a strong demand for communication with native speakers.However,in terms of consciously using Chinese and maintaining the effectiveness of communication process,the learners wit.h experience in China perform better.The differences between the two groups in cognitive strategies,compensation strategies and social tests are due to the differences in language learning environment,Chinese demand and vocabulary accumulation between the two groups.
