The outbreak of the COVID-19 in the spring of 2020 forced most countries to fully activate their emergency plans for education and teaching.Colleges and universities in my country have launched online teaching and learning in response to the Ministry of Education’s initiative entitled “Ensuring learning uninterrupted when classes are disrupted”.The organization and implementation of online learning have ensured successful higher education in difficult times.But at the same time,online education is faced with the challenge of decreased student-to-student interaction and diminished teacher-to-student communication due to changes in different aspects such as field and technology.The purpose of social learning is to learn from observing and interacting with others so that new knowledge can be quickly and effectively disseminated among diverse groups.Social learning will assist college students in strengthening their online interactive learning and communication frequency,as well as their learning interest and effectiveness.This thesis takes college students as the user group and researches the related issues of social learning experience design in online learning.The purpose of this project is to improve the online learning experience of college students,to enhance the quality and effectiveness of online education,and to address the problems associated with infrequent and superficial interactions between teachers and students,all with the primary goal of improving college students’ learning performance in online higher education.The primary study topics are as follows: one is whether the application of social learning can help to enhance the college students’ online learning performance;the other is how to use social learning to develop students’ feeling of interaction and to meet their experience needs in online learning and how to propose the experience design strategy for college students’ online learning according to the demand mapping.At the theoretical level,this thesis features an integration of multi-disciplinary theories including theories of design,cognitive psychology,sociology and statistics;at the methodological level,it employs a variety of research methods according to the characteristics of online education and social learning of college students.The research methods employed in the stage and content include literature desk research,natural observation method,user in-depth interview,shadow research,semantic difference scale,questionnaire survey and quantitative evaluation of user experience.The major findings of this study are as follows:(1)Through the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods such as literature research and semantic difference scale,it is verified that college students’ social learning interactive communication behaviour is positively correlated with learning performance,indicating that students and teachers are positively correlated.The enhanced sense of engagement contributes to improving students’ learning performance in online higher education.(2)By combining the statistical data from decision-making questionnaires with the design elements of user social experience,three types of social learning delivery methods suitable for the online education field of college students are identified,and social online learning strategies for college students are provided based on the sensory,interactive and emotional experience levels.A systematic theoretical basis is established.(3)According to the five layers of user experience: strategy layer,scope layer,structure layer,framework layer and presentation layer,a socialised online learning strategy for college students is designed and implemented,with specific details for the future establishment and improvement of the socialized learning mechanism of online education.Through a multidisciplinary cross-theory approach combined with social learning methods,this thesis systematically analyses the learning needs and experience problems of college students in online education,as well as the design strategies for college students’ online social learning experience from the perspective of user experience.The application scenarios with great guiding significance are of high theoretical and practical value.
