With the rapid development of material civilization, human society is facing the aggravation of ecological crisis. Now the ecological issue has become the center of global discourse. In recent years,eco-poetics evolving from the ecological literature criticism has gradually become a growth point in literary research.Eco-poetics can be explained as the various viewpoints, values and theories about relationships between literature and ecology, with the aim to apply ecological concepts into literature reading, teaching and creation.Under the guidance of ecological holism,anti-anthropocentrism and life-consciousness-focus in literary works,eco-poetics mainly elaborates the ecological connotation in literary works and explores the relationship between literature and nature, society, and spirit, and aims to construct the systematic thinking between literary and ecology.Looking into Chinese traditional poetic creation, the simple ecological consciousness in Chinese philosophy has provided inexhaustible wisdom resources for the occurrence and development of Chinese classical poetry. As a representative figure in ancient pastoral poetry,Tao Yuanming shines brightly in the development history of Chinese literature. His poems contain very rich Chinese classic ecological wisdom.Today, when advocating the "going out"strategy of Chinese culture, the study on the translation of ecological connotation in Tao Yuanming's poetry is conducive to promoting the translation development of Chinese classical poetry and deepening the readers' understanding and love of of Chinese classical culture at home and abroad.Based on the perspective of eco-poetics,this thesis first briefly introduces the current research situation of Tao Yuanming's poetry translations at home and abroad, then it elaborates the development of eco-poetics,its theoretical principles and the relevance between eco-poetics and translation;then it explores the ecological connotation of Tao Yuanming's poetry in accordance with Lu Shuyuan's three layers of human ecology including nature, society and spirit.Through analysis of Wang Rongpei's translation of Tao's poetry, his gains and loss in interpreting the ecological connotation embedded in Tao's poetry are commented. And translation principles in the eco-poetics perspective will also be advanced. Finally,it is concluded that Wang Rongpei's translation successfully grasp the spirit of Tao Yuanming's poetry at a high level, the style of Tao Yuanming's idyll translated by him can be summarized as a kind of simple and natural beauty. But his interpretation of ecological connotation in Tao's poetry still has some room to gain.Literary translation should be able to show the original flavor and ecological beauty as much as possible. In the process of translation, translators should pay attention to the ecological connotation of the text and make ecological interpretation and reconstruction of the original text based on the translation context The main translation principle from the eco-poetics perspective lies in its emphasizing translator's formation of ecological consciousness in the process of translation, and extending the vision of literary translation from the text into the nature. The combination of eco-poetics and translation can provide a new perspective for translation. At the same time,it is also conducive to revealing the ecological wisdom of Chinese classical literature, and has certain enlightening significance for today's literary translation research and the "going out" strategy of Chinese literature.
