A Study Of The Intergenerational Relationship In Chinese Family Films Since The New Century

Harmonious intergenerational relationship is a necessary condition for social stability,but with the changes of society,the structure and function of the family are gradually changing;the cohesion linked by blood relationship is gradually weakened,and the collision between familybased culture and individualistic values makes family contradictions gradually prominent,and intergenerational conflict becomes the main form of intergenerational relationship.As one of the artistic types of reflecting social reality and spreading culture,family theme movies can not only reflect the objective reality through images,but also cause the audience to think and examine the intergenerational relationship by its dissemination,and promote the harmonious development of intergenerational relationship.Through the study of Chinese family theme movies in the new century,this paper summarizes the types of intergenerational relationship in Chinese family theme movies,describes their intergenerational characteristics,and explores the cultural significance behind them.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction,first defines the concept of family movies and intergenerational relationships.Family movies refer to the movies which narrate the parent-child relationship and its derived intergenerational relationship and the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the two narrative space-time of history and reality,urban and rural areas,to show the daily life of family members as the main content,to express a certain value orientation,cultural heritage.Intergenerational relationship refers to therelationship between the previous generation and the next generation within the scope of law,through the practice of responsibilities and obligations,emotional communication and exchange,reciprocity and sharing of family resources,as well as the links in this process.The second part is the presentation of intergenerational relationship in family films since the new century.The intergenerational relationship in family films mainly includes intergenerational conflict and intergenerational harmony.This paper discusses the concept and classification of intergenerational conflict from the perspective of sociology.According to the degree of alienation,intergenerational alienation is mainly manifested as “relationship alienation” and “relationship distortion”;according to the different themes,intergenerational gap is mainly manifested in two aspects: “education ”and “marriage”.Intergenerational harmony mainly includes: the type of "Father's kindness and son's filial piety and mutual dependence" and the type of "collision-communication-bridging".The former is the most ideal and harmonious intergenerational relationship,which meets the audience's expectations of spiritual home,while the latter is the true portrayal of intergenerational relationship in real life.The third part is about the characteristics of intergenerational relationship in family films since the new century.First,from the content point of view,intergenerational relationships are manifested in the complexity of family relations and the diversity of intergenerational concepts.Secondly,from the perspective of image expression,the intergenerational relationship is mainly manifested as follows: to show the intergenerational conflict with the realism of scene,character authenticity and long lens;to complete the bridging of intergenerational relationship with soothing lens,detailed treatment,light and color collocation.The fourth part is the cultural significance behind the intergenerational relationship in Chinese family films since the new century.Chinese culture is not simply copy and paste,but through the inheritance and innovation of different times,the culture of different periods will affect the artistic creation of the corresponding period,and reflected in the artistic creation.The presentation and characteristics of intergenerational relationship in family films are closely related to the continuous inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture for thousands of years.Starting from the stability and variability of culture,this chapter explores the infiltration and influence of Confucian culture and youth sub-culture on intergenerational relations in family films.In this paper,the study of intergenerational relationship in Chinese family films in the new century is helpful to deal with and solve intergenerational relationship problems in real life,the study of film themes and audio-visual is helpful to promote the rapid development of family films.
