Yodel singing is a special singing method originated from the Swiss Alps.It is known as one of the most difficult minority singing methods in the world.This singing method was originally used by shepherds on the mountain to call their own cattle,sheep or pass signals on the mountain.Over time,with the development of The Times,a unique artistic singing method was formed.This singing method makes use of the rapid conversion of true and false voices to produce a unique sound effect."The shepherdess of the Alps" and "the lonely shepherd" both of these two works use the jodel singing method,the melody is cheerful and lively,the singing method is novel,bringing people a pleasant sense of hearing.This paper takes these two works as examples,discusses the origin and characteristics of yodel's singing method,and analyzes the application of this color singing method in vocal music works in combination with the singing of the works,so as to provide reference experience for other vocal music learners and those who are interested in yodel's singing techniques.
