In today, exchanges and communications between different cultures have become so frequent and collisions? How to build an understanding and identity of aesthetics in a cross-cultural context is very important. For people, the difference in language thinking affects not only their communication but also their way of thinking. The development of linguistics from the focus on language to the relationship between language and people is an advancement in language research. From Humboldt's first opinion on the relationship between language and thinking, until the "Sapir-Wolf" hypothesis was put forward, this experienced a long dialectical process. Therefore,we can know that the relationship between language and thinking is not unilateral, but there is mutual influence and mutual change. In the begin, there is no difference in the expression of emotions in the soil and the ceramic art. However, with the emergence of language and the development of language thinking, differences in language thinking began to appear slowly. The reasons for the formation of such differences are historical, regional, and also the thinking. The relationship between thinking and language is inseparable. As an carrier of human thinking, ceramics, whether decorated or shaped, expand with the historical, regional language, and continue to develop. This article will explain the relationship between language and thinking through four chapters. The reasons for the formation of aesthetic differences between Eastern and Western pottery are analyzed.Emphasize the argument that the difference in aesthetics between East and West is based on the difference in language thinking. Its purpose is to better understand the difference in aesthetics of pottery in today's cross-cultural context, and to enrich the possibilities of pottery creation through mutual absorption and reference.
