Under the system of Hollywood studios,Westerners often have a mystical and specific national stereotype to the Oriental image represented by China and oriental culture from the Western perspective. Therefore, many characters are the imagination and interpretation of the east by western society.Through the study of the two films,"The Joy Luck Club" and "Crazy Rich Asians",we can analyze the immigrant culture in a deeper level. Therefore,by comparing and combing the narrative techniques of the Chinese identity image in "The Joy Luck Club" and "Crazy Rich Asians",we can understand the current situation of the survival and development of overseas Chinese in different image depictions, and provide more relevant research and perspectives in the cross-cultural field. The film "The Joy Luck Club" and "Crazy Rich Asians" describe the conflicts brought about by the cross-cultural identity of overseas Chinese with special narrative methods.By using the methods of literary analysis and case analysis, this paper discusses the cross-cultural cases of related Chinese American films, draws lessons from and sorts out the related narrative theories, and finds out the background of the adaptation of overseas Chinese to local culture and the conflict caused by the difference of cultural values between the two generations of their children,as well as the more profound cultural factors behind these conflicts. In addition, the background of these two films and the story meanings they explain is the combination of Chinese and Western cultures, based on the subjective analysis of Chinese and Western cultures, and then mix the story backgrounds with different original meanings to form a kind of cross-cultural film, spread cross-cultural in the form of film, reminding people to keep their own national culture, but also to have a sound and open mind to accept other cultures around the world.
