A Preliminary Investigation Of Western Cyborg Theory And Contemporary Cyborg Art

As a popular artistic object and theoretical paradigm in the field of Western contemporary art since the 21st century,Cyborg has attracted extensive attention from many academic fields in China in recent years.A large number of related art creations and art exhibitions have emerged,but the research on art theory is still in a weak stage in China.This article attempts to summarize the theory of cyborg and its development in the field of art in Chinese and Western in order to provide a support for the theory and artistic symbols of the future development of contemporary art.As far as the current development of the Western theory is concerned,the exploration of Cyborg in art work presents two phenomena of objection and metaphor.The use of cyborg metaphors revolves around two clues:the attempt to establish a seamless information feedback loop between organisms and the external environment based on cybernetics;and Concern for gender,race,political,human ontological under the influence of Haraway’s cyborg manifesto.
