The Study On ChengXun And His Thoughts

Cheng Xun is one of the postgraduates of the xin an li school in the Southern Song Dynasty.He has a profound family background of the Confucian school and was handed down in a direct line from Zhu Zi,so his study is based on Zhu Zi's philosophe.There remanis ke an xian sheng zun de xing zhai xiao ji in three volumes by Cheng Xun and Zhu Cheng wen da in three volumes compiled by his relative Cheng zi.Those books are important materials for the study of him and his thoughts.Cheng Xun has studied and explored all his life,pleading for the people.There was a turning point in his academic view.In his early years,Cheng Xun was willing to approve of the theories of Yichuan and Dongpo.Later,he was engaged in the books of Confucius,Mencius,Lian and Luo,analyzing and deducing those books,and entering the holy door of Confucian school.His learning path can be divided by meeting Zhu Zi.This paper consists of five chapters,which can be divided into three parts.The first part summarizes the academic history of Cheng Xun and his ideological research,analyzes the research value,establishes the research method and integrates the research content.This paper confirms Cheng Xun's experience,friends and works,probes into the relationship between his academic style,academy construction and Huizhou academic system,analyzes the position of Cheng Xun and his thoughts in the academic history,and investigates his academic background and philosophical basis.In the second part,in the process of analyzing the similarities and differences between Zhu and Cheng's thoughts,we further explore how Cheng Xun's Neo Confucianism gradually matures under the influence of Zhu Zi.Cheng Xun's thought of Neo Confucianism can be discussed from the aspects of his argumentation with Zhu Zi on the relationship between knowledge and action,on the mystery of Analects and Mencius,and discussed from the questions of Zhengmeng,Ximing,ghosts and gods,rites and music.Also on level of "to explain rites by reason","to get rid of Zen and save reason","to keep in respecting and go into thoroughly on reason".First of all,Cheng Xun thinks that "action" is more important than "knowledge" in terms of the relationship between knowledge and action,while Zhu Xi interprets knowledge as the basis of action and the ability of knowing and doing.The second is the interpretation of Analects and Mencius.In terms of Analects,it mainly focuses on"three-year unchanged in the father's way","excellent learning" and "official career","the distinction between justice and benefit";in terms of Mencius,Zhu Zi reminds Cheng Xun to pay attention to his righteousness and rationality in the interpretation of chapter "Cultivating Qi".The last is the interpretation of Ximing.It involves not only the explanation of "the importance of heaven and earth,my body.The leadership of heaven and earth,my nature",but also the concepts of Neo Confucianism,such as "the unification and difference of reason","deeply thought out the knowledge","ghosts and gods".Through their interpretation of exegesis,they can reflect Zhu Xi's and Cheng Xun's early opinions and ideological similarities and differences on Ximing.Under the influence of Zhu Zi,Cheng Xun deeply analyzed and thought about "nature and the way of heaven".His Neo Confucianism thought revolved around "to explain rites by reason","to get rid of Zen and save reason","to keep in respecting and go into thoroughly on reason".It not only emphasized the construction of metaphysics theory,but also emphasized the practice of learning,forming an important vein of his Neo Confucianism system structure.The third part discusses Cheng Xun's political thought.His unique contribution to social governance lies not only in inheriting the traditional Confucian political concepts of upright monarch and strict officials,people as the foundation of the state,morality and law as well as economy,but also in maintaining the beautiful political blueprint of the unification of China and the co governance of monarchs and ministers.
