| Since being introduced to China in the Han and Wei Dynasties,Buddhism has combined with traditional Chinese culture for more than two thousand years.It was during the Sui and Tang Dynasties that a Buddhist culture with Chinese characteristics was formed.In this process,there is no shortage of efforts and contributions made by generations of Chinese Buddhist scholars.It is precisely through their understanding,digestion and elucidation of a series of Buddhist scriptures that many commentaries can appear in history.As a testimony to the absorption of Indian Buddhist ideology,commentaries is enriched by Chinese culture and is an important material for studying the Sinicization of Buddhism.As one of the many sutras,Jin Guangming Jing Xuanyi is the most influential work that elucidates the meaning of the Jin Guangming Jing from the doctrine of perfect teaching.It is not only an important philosophical book of Tiantai Sect,but also condenses the Buddhist essence of Master Zhi Zhe,which is of great significance for the study of Buddhism in China.Jin Guangming Jing Xuanyi was dictated by Master Zhi Zhe and recorded by the disciple Guan Ding,ranking top in the Tiantai sect classics."Xuanyi" and "Xuanshu"are both terms used by Tiantai Sect to explain the heading of the classics.The main purpose of Jin Guangming Jing Xuanyi is to explore the Buddhist doctrines contained in the three characters " Jin Guangming ".Master Zhi Zhe believes that any Buddhist scripture contains Five Mysterious Meanings,which makes people understand not only how the basic gist of a Buddhist scripture is expressed in the form of words,but more importantly,how to implement the Buddhist doctrines in the practice.He explained the innumerable and profound meaning of Jin Guangming from the perspective of perfect teaching and used the method of Five Mysterious Meanings.The main purpose of this paper is to make a specific combing and analysis of the meaning of Jin Guangming as the exegesis of Jin Guangming Jing Xuanyi.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the academic community’s research on the meaning of Jin Guangming,to find out the current research results and deficiencies.The second chapter introduces the writing characteristics of Jin Guangming Jing Xuanyi,the main content is to summarize the method of explaining the method used by Master Zhi Zhe in this article."Xuanyi" is the name used by Master Zhi Zhe to annotate the Buddhist scriptures,and is often used in his writings explaining the scriptures.The content of "Xuanyi" is divided into five aspects,abbreviated as Five Mysterious Meanings.Master Zhi Zhe annotated the scriptures in the order of these five aspects.The characteristics of its emphasis on doctrine and practice are also displayed in this part.The third chapter mainly summarizes the reasons why Master Zhi Zhe interpreted Jin Guangming,and explained that Jin Guangming covers two aspects is because it relies on the original essence of Jin Guangming.That is to say,Jin Guangming directly points to the realm of Buddha.In this way,the number of Buddhist principles it can capture is infinite.In order to explain this meaning of Jin Guangming,Master Zhi Zhe temporarily took advantage of ten kinds of dharma to draw out.This is the main content of Chapter 4.It is easier to understand the deeper connotation after knowing about the reasons of interpretation.The fifth chapter is to explain the interpretation of Jin Guangming meaning from the view of doctrine and practice,which is the most rooftop feature in its profound connotation.Master Zhi Zhe’s exegesis of Jin Guangming on the one hand shows profoundness of the original essence of Jin Guangming,on the other hand it also presents his ideological system.According to the meaning of Jin Guangming,the viewpoint of regarding doctrine and practice Buddhism as equally important has been emphasized from different aspects,which also confirms that it is the summary of Tiantai Sect’s theory and practice of all Dharma,and it is also the Buddha’s study Those who follow the guidelines for further education. |
