Problem behavior refers to children's behavior that does not conform to the accepted social norms and moral standards, and they are immature in emotional and social adaptation. For preschoolers, aggression, disruptive behavior, anxiety and depression, and sleep problems are the main manifestations.Children's problem behavior is influenced by many factors,a number of studies have confirmed that children's temperament and parenting patterns are key factors in problem behavior. Moreover, some foreign studies have found that children's temperament and parenting style can influence each other and affect problem behaviors, but there are few domestic studies on this aspect. In this study,208 pre-school children from kaifeng city were selected as subjects. This paper aims to explore the influence of temperament and parenting style on children's problem behaviors and the role of temperament in parenting style and problem behaviors using parental reporting. The main results are as follows:1.Parenting style can significantly predict children's problem behavior.Specifically, authoritative parenting significantly negatively predicted problem behaviors, while authoritarian and permissive parenting significantly positively predicted problem behaviors.2.Children's temperament can significantly predict their problem behaviors.Specifically, extroversion and negative emotions significantly positively predicted problem behaviors.Effective control can significantly negatively predict problem behavior.3.The extroverted dimension of children's temperament has a significant moderating effect between authoritative and internalized problem behaviors, while the negative emotional dimension of temperament has a significant mediating effect between authoritarian and permissive parenting and problem behaviors. Conclusion: Both temperament and parenting style can predict preschool children's problem behaviors. In addition, temperament plays a moderating and mediating role in the influence of parenting style on children's problem behaviors.
