Analysis Of The Phenomenon Of Mass Film Criticism In The 1990s Popular Movies

The 1980 s was the heyday of POPULAR MOVIE magazine.At present,most of the academic research perspectives on mass film criticism focus on this decade,and there is a lack of research on mass film criticism after this decade.Therefore,the author hopes to analyze the characteristics of the mass film criticism in the 1990 s by comparing it with the mass film criticism in the 1980 s,so as to explore the reasons for its changes.First chapter in the development process of POPULAR MOVIE magazine to comb,and the phenomenon of the masses reviews and its representation in the POPULAR MOVIE magazine present,elaborated this POPULAR MOVIE magazine development process can be divided into three stages,from 1950 to 1966,rising period,from 1979 to 1990,brilliant period and transition period since 1991.As the most representative cultural phenomenon in POPULAR MOVIE magazine,the phenomenon of mass film review refers to the unique cultural phenomenon with the masses as the main participants in China in the 1980 s,which is manifested in the forms of criticism,appreciation and comment.The author team of mass film review is composed of workers,students,farmers and other multi-level film critics.The phenomenon of mass film criticism is embodied in the columns of "reader BBS" and "I am the audience".The second chapter mainly discusses the column characteristics and reasons of mass film criticism in POPULAR MOVIE in the 1990 s,and explores the causes behind the characteristics of this period through the comparison with mass film criticism in the 1980 s.Compared with the large number and variety of mass film criticism columns in the 1980 s,the mass film criticism in the 1990 s showed the characteristics of single type of columns,sharply reduced number of columns and even disappeared.The main reasons for the changes in the column characteristics in the 1990 s are the rise of mass culture,the marketization of films and the star effect.The third chapter mainly discusses the content characteristics and reasons of mass film criticism in POPULAR MOVIE in the 1990 s.Different from the mixed content of mass film review in the 1980 s,mass film review in the 1990 s occupied less and less space in POPULAR MOVIE magazine,and the number of articles decreased sharply.Thematic films became the main comment content of mass film review in 1990 s.The main reason for the change of the content of mass film review lies in the emphasis on thematic films and entertainment films.On the basis of the comparison between the 1990 s and the 1980 s.The fourth chapter draws the conclusion that the change of mass film criticism reflects the pan-entertainment and aphasia of contemporary films.
