Study On The Marriage Customs In Linfen Region During The Republic Of China(1912—1937)

After the establishment of the Republic of China in 1912,a law on the improvement of the common customs was promulgated.Customs and habits have changed considerably throughout the country.Linfen in the south of Shanxi Province,as the birthplace of Yao culture,,With the change of the whole social trend,the folk customs have changed correspondingly.Moreover,during the reign of Yan Xishan in Shanxi Province,there was also the practice of reform in "six policies and three things".Therefore,under the dual influence of the central and local governments of the Republic of China,Linfen region has also injected a lot of modern contents into its customs,especially in the aspect of wedding customs.This paper takes this as the research focus and places it between 1912,when the Republic of China was established,and 1937,before the Japanese invaded and occupied Shanxi.The text consists of four parts.The basic situation of Linfen region in the Republic of China.Mainly includes the position,terrain and living environment,emphasize politics,economy,education and culture.The marriage customs in Linfen region before and after the Republic of China,This chapter mainly includes the traditional custom of marriage,the custom of marriage in the Republic of China period in Linfen region.The legacy traditional customs demonstrates the old customs and six special forms of marriage.The rise of new marriage in Linfen region during the Republic of China.The author mainly introduces the change of people's concept of marriage,the change of specific wedding forms,the reasons for the change and the characteristics carried by the change process.The epilogue is a summary of the core concepts of the article,In addition,the positive significance of the transformation from tradition to new style is introduced in detail.which further clarifies the significance of custom changes to the times at that time and even now.Today,the legacy of the traditional wedding can still be seen in modern weddings.So,the change of marriage etiquette and custom is not achieved overnight,it is a slow and gradual process.The purpose of this paper is to summarize the benefits of the marriage customs in Linfen during the period of the Republic of China,and to analyze the rationality of the transition from tradition to new type and the preservation of traditional culture,so as to better serve the construction of cultural self-confidence in the contemporary era.
