The famous Spanish dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca insisted on the concept of "drama is poetry" from the beginning of the drama creation.His drama has always been regarded as a model of Western drama poetry.This article uses three representative works of his drama: the early "Marina Paneda"(1927),the later "Blood Wedding"(1933)and "Yerma"(1935)as an entry point.The specific manifestation,reasons for the formation and the meaning of the poetic features of Lorca's plays.The first part of the thesis mainly discusses the performance of Garcia Lorca's poetic features in two aspects: language and imagery in drama.Lorca plays a poetic language,which is mainly reflected in the characters in the script,specifically in the subtext,the character's inner monologue and pause.In addition to the drama language,the poetic character of Lorca's plays is also reflected in the imagery constructed by it.In the Lorca play,symbolic features such as the moon,water,flowers and metal are everywhere.In addition,the characters in the Lorca play are also full of symbolic meaning,the most representative are Leonardo and Yerma.Through the analysis of the above two aspects,we can deeply feel the poetic features contained in Lorca's plays.The second part of the thesis focuses on the causes of the poetic characteristics of Garcia Lorca's plays,from the Spanish bullfighting culture and the Gypsy culture,the background of the times and the literary environment at that time,the growing environment of Lorca and its individuality in the field of art.A detailed analysis of the three aspects,to explore the specific impact of these reasons on the creation of Lorca drama.The third part of the thesis further explores the meaning of the poetic features of Garcia Lorca's plays.Lorca showed the real life scenes of women inSpanish villages through the three plays of Mariana Pineda,The Wedding of Blood and Yerma,reflecting the poor and oppressed life of the people at that time.It reveals the problem of survival dilemma faced by the entire human society.
