A Study On Translated Versions Of Great Expectations From The Perspective Of Deconstruction Translation Theory

Deconstruction is a kind of post-modern philosophical ideology originated from Western community.After entering into translation field from the end of 1980s to the beginning of 1990s,deconstruction translation theory is established,represented by Benjamin,Derrida and other scholars,which makes huge shock to traditional translation theory and has a great influence on the development of Western translation theory.By analyzing the thoughts of deconstruction translation theory,this thesis makes a study on the two Chinese versions of Great Expectations(translated by Wang Keyi and Luo Zhiye).Under deconstruction translation theory,the thesis devotes to explaining the rationality of repeating translation,the concrete reflection of translator's subjectivity in literary translation and the content and reflection of "relevant translation" in translation practice.The first part is literature review,involving the developing history of related theory,research achievements and relevant thoughts of deconstruction translation theory and relevant research of Great Expectations.The second part is the comparative study of the translated versions of Great Expectations.By the comparative study,it can be concluded:1.repeating translation is rational;2.translators have subjectivity and creativity on translation strategy,translation method and translation technique;3."relevant translation" is a new standard which provides flexibility and freedom for translators.
