As children have more and more opportunities to access computers, mobile phones etc.,the length of time they watch video programs has increased, and watching video programs has become a major part of children's amateur life.Executive function plays an important role in the children's cognitive development, which is related to the healthy growth of children. Therefore, research on the impact of video programs on executive functions has received extensive attention. This study is divided into three parts.Study 1 uses a self-designed video usage questionnaire to survey the current situation of children aged 4 to 7 years watching video programs.Study 2,used questionnaires and executive function tasks to survey the earliest and the duration of video program viewing for children aged 4 to 7 years, and the impact on its executive function;Study 3 explore the impact of short-term viewing of video programs on the executive function of children aged 4 to 7 years,Experiment a used the between-subjects design of 3(program type:entertainment, education and control group)x 4(age:4 years old,5 year old,6 year old and 7 year old group);Experiment b used the between-subjects design of 2(fantasy:high,low)x 2(pace:fast,slow)x 4(age:4 years old,5 years old,6 years old and 7 year old group).Through the experimental study, the following conclusions are drawn:First, the younger the children, the earlier they start to come into contact with the video program; The content of video programs watched by children of different age groups has not changed significantly, and the duration of watching video programs was longer on weekends;Second, children's video program viewing is related to their family factors. The higher the family's socioeconomic status, the earlier the age at which children begin to contact video programs;the higher the family monthly income, the longer the video programs are watched;Third, children's video program viewing is related to parents' attitudes and behaviors. The higher the degree of parental control over the program, the later the child's age of contact; The higher the degree of parental support, the longer they are watched;Fourth, the earliest age of children's is predicting the children's executive function, that is,the younger earliest age of contact, the worse the child's executive function;the time watching the video program negatively affects the performance of the executive function on study day, that is,children who perform video programs for more than 30 minutes perform poorly;Fifth,short-term exposure to entertainment video programs has had a negative impact on children's executive functions.Compared to children watching educational video programs and control groups, children performing entertainment programs perform poorly.Sixth,short-term exposure to high-fantasy video shows has had a negative impact on children's executive function.Children who watch high-fantasy programs score significantly lowerat the executive level than the other groups.Among them, children aged 4 to 6 years have more short-term effects when watching video programs with different fantasy levels.
