| At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,China experienced a change of times and was in a period of conflict between old and new ideas.Correspondingly,various art forms have undergone a process of continuous transformation and innovation.Chinese opera has also set off a wave of improvement and transformation.The dramatists advocated learning from the Western drama.and through constant acting and creation,they gradually generated a new art form,drama,which later scholars also called early drama.During the development of the drama,many Chinese and foreign literary resources were used for adaptation.Among them,the adaptations of drama from traditional Chinese literature and art materials reflect that during the transition and transformation of Chinese and foreign literary and artistic forms,how drama reforms and develops and how people's understanding of drama evolved.The adaptations of the Dream of the Red Mansion provide the author with a lens to explore these issues.This article is based on the Dream of the Red Mansion's adaptation into drama from 191 3 to 1919.By close reading and external historical materials,the author inspected the thought of the academic and drama circles at that time,as well as some scripts and drama reviews.This paper also discussed the circumstances under which drama met traditional Chinese cultural resources,whether new meanings were tapped,and what adjustments have been made in the process of development.This article is divided into the following five parts:The introduction mainly introduces the reasons of the topic,research value,current research situation,research ideas and methods of this topic.The first chapter outlines the adaptations and performance of traditional opera about the Dream of the Red Mansion,and then examines the relationship between this original work's adaptations of traditional opera and drama.To a certain degree,the adaptation and evolution of opera the Dream of the Red Mansion have provided su ffi cient preparation conditions for the encounter between the Dream of the Red Mansion and the drama form.However,due to the characteristics of the times and the limitations of the art form,opera the Dream of the Red Mansion and dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion have their own purpose and preferences.The second chapter mainly discusses the development and breakthrough of dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion on the drama circles.First of all,this paper discusses the influence of mainstream on dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion.It makes the dramatist adapted the stories of Xia Jingui,Wang Xifeng and other fierce characters in the atmosphere of family drama performances and tried to take on the social education responsibility of the drama.In addition,this paper also analyzes the impact of commercialization on the promotion methods and performance styles of dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion in different opera troupes.Finally,this paper discuss the alternative choices presented by the dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion in the plot of the drama world.That is to say,the dramas the Dream of the Red Mansion provided the inspiration for the drama's more in-depth production based on the realism of the plot and the complexity of the characters from the original.The third chapter analyzes Ouyang Yuqian's exploration in the drama adaptation of the Dream of the Red Mansion and its inspiration to the development of drama.First,through the adaptation of Ouyang Yuqian's opera,this paper revealed the specific presentation of Ouyang Yuqian 's concept of art.Finally,by analyzing how the Dream of the Red Mansion opera shape and deepen the image of the characters,so as to understand the role of the singing component in the drama at that time.The concluding part summarizes many problems in the drama adaptation of the Dream of the Red Mansion in terms of adaptation characteristics,performance tendency,and art form,and also reflects on the exploration and development of the drama in the early Republic of China. |
