A dream of Red Mansions has been widely concerned by the society since it was published.Under its great artistic charm,various opera adaptation works of a dream of Red Mansions appear frequently.Since Jiaqing,it has a history of more than 200 years.The characteristics of opera performance on the stage have played a unique role in the dissemination of a dream of Red Mansions.For this batch of opera works,scholars mostly regard it as the vassal of the novel.Compared with a large number of reading and concealment of the novel text,the attention of opera appears to be less.Although there are articles on description and research,there are few in-depth discussions from the perspective of cultural value and cultural trend of thought.This paper focuses on the drama of a dream of Red Mansions in the Qing Dynasty,focusing on the historical and cultural background of its emergence and its influence on the adaptation of drama under the current cultural trend of thought;This paper discusses the interpretation and acceptance of and novels in the process of opera adaptation;And expand the scope of the study to analyze the impact of Honglou opera in the Qing Dynasty on the adaptation of opera since the Republic of China and the founding of the People’s Republic of China.Firstly,by sorting out the writers and the purpose of the play,this paper clarifies the basic development context of Honglou opera in the Qing Dynasty.Most of the texts of Honglou opera in the Qing Dynasty were produced in the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods,so the historical and cultural discussion of this period is more detailed.On the basis of literature collation,the second chapter makes a preliminary study of Honglou opera in combination with the background of the times and cultural trends.First of all,starting from advocating Red Mansions and mending hatred psychology,excavate the creative motivation of dramatists.Secondly,from the perspective of macro cultural inheritance,this paper analyzes the influence of Honglou opera on the expression of "emotion" by undertaking the "theory of supreme emotion" in the Ming Dynasty and the "simple learning" and "Neo Confucianism" in the Qing Dynasty.In the macro cultural background,there is always a vein of sentimental thought,which affects the creation of literati.Honglou opera also shows the aesthetic characteristics of negative birth and sadness without sadness.In the history of opera in the middle and late Qing Dynasty,Huabu competed for the victory of Huabu and defeated Yabu with its unique artistic charm.During this period,the development of Kunqu opera was difficult,creating a lost and sad atmosphere in opera.The drama of "a dream of Red Mansions" in the Qing Dynasty appeared in such a period full of challenges and contradictions,with new characteristics,such as indifference to the music system,the tendency of drama to be desk oriented and so on.The third chapter,starting with the text of opera,analyzes the relationship and differences between opera and the original novel.The dramas created by dramatists are adapted on the basis of the original code,reflecting the literati’s own aesthetic tendency and aesthetic acceptance.Therefore,in terms of theme and plot,different drama creators have different expressions and choices,mainly analyzing Baodai’s love through Buddhism and Taoism,Cheng Zhu’s theory and affectionate tradition.There are some variations in the shaping of roles and characters.The images of Daiyu and Baochai are divided into good and evil,which shows that dramatists have different attitudes towards characters.Opera,as a stage literature,turned into a desk reading in the Qing Dynasty.The characters’ language was awkward.Although it was full of elegant allusions and poems,it was not conducive to the stage performance of opera,which showed that the development of Kunqu opera had come to an end.The fourth chapter focuses on the influence of Honglou opera in the Qing Dynasty on the adaptation of Honglou opera in later generations.The influence of Honglou opera in the Qing Dynasty on later generations is divided into two periods.The first period is the period of the Republic of China,and the second period is since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.Peking Opera is the main opera in the period of the Republic of China.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,local operas have emerged one after another.The Red Chamber Opera in the period of the Republic of China absorbed the western humanistic,free and democratic spirit.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the enrichment of local operas has made a greater breakthrough in the adaptation content of Honglou opera.The adaptation of Honglou opera in different periods has different new changes and characteristics. |
