This paper mainly studies science fiction under the Utopian vision of contemporary American Marxist theorist Frederick Jameson.Jameson believes that in postmodern society, the function of Utopia is no longer to represent a more perfect and ideal social system, but to reveal the weakness of human imagination and the control of the ideology of the ruling class.Utopia suffered an unprecedented blow during the period of global capitalism.Only as a socio-economic type of science fiction has it gained new vitality.Jameson criticizes science fiction in his utopian vision, which makes science fiction,a marginal genre, obtain an independent genre character similar to that of serious literature, and makes science fiction obtain affirmation by virtue of its social cognition and realistic criticism.Science fiction is a rare Utopian enclave in the post-modern society. It shows the suppressed Utopian impulse and fulfills the mission of Utopia in its zigzag and hidden way.Jameson believes that the greatest contribution of science fiction is to "win in defeat",that is,to reveal the powerlessness of human beings in imagining the future and the unknown world, and to help people realize their own imagination barriers and ideological control in the era of global capitalism.By analyzing the relationship between Utopia and science fiction, this paper discusses Jameson's rationality of taking science fiction as a Utopia enclave in postmodern society, explores the Utopia traces in science fiction, explores and explains the tortuous and hidden narrative techniques of science fiction and how to realize the utopian function, and reveals the presentation of science fiction in Jameson's utopian vision The new significance and value of science fiction is expected to expand the innovative path and theoretical vision for the development of science fiction literature and science fiction criticism. The content of this paper is divided into three chapters:the first chapter briefly combs the history of Utopian thought,Jameson's transformation of utopian thought and the science fiction no turn in Jameson's utopian literary criticism.Jameson regards Utopia as a purposeful social tool, and literature as a utopian plan, which shows that literature has the function of political Utopia-to reveal the weakness of imagination and the control of ideology;the cognitive nature of science fiction makes up for the paralysis of elegant literature, and it becomes the later with its own structural and aesthetic characteristics A utopian enclave in modern times. The second chapter discusses the utopian traces in sci-fi texts, mainly around the body and space.Body and space are the key themes in Jameson's postmodern literature, and they also carry a lot of marginalized Utopian impulses. The third chapter discusses the "more tortuous" and "more hidden"narratives adopted by science fiction. The ultimate effect of these narratives is to achieve its utopian purpose-to reveal the powerlessness of human imagination of the unknown world.First of all,the narrative method of world miniature is put forward. This narrative method is out of the dilemma of imagination. In essence,it is a kind of thought experiment, referring to the order of human world, but following the simple and abstract construction principle.Secondly,it discusses the narrative method of cognitive alienation, which makes use of the cognitive and structural aesthetic features of science fiction itself.Through the universal narration of the "shocking" things in the unknown world, the text finally makes people experience the Defamiliarization of the real order,so as to remind people to reflect on the rationality of the current human behavior. Finally,it analyzes the narrative mode of Polyphony and dialogue. In reality,a variety of utopias and their closeness provide the precondition for science fiction to present the communication and dialogue between different utopias. The collision and dialogue between different utopias is a way to explore a more ideal Utopia.
