The Creation Research Of Shen Yinmo's Old-style Poetry

Shen Yinmo(1883-1971)is a well-known scholar,calligrapher,poet and educator.His identity as a poet,especially an old-style poet is often ignored by the academia,compared to other identities he possesses.Shen devoted all his life to writing,creating a large number of old-style poetry.This thesis is aimed at discussing the creation research of Shen's old-style poetry.Taking his old-style poems as foundation,this thesis made a systematic organization and conclusion of the style,underlying emotion,classical origin and artistic transformation of Shen's old-style poetry creation through inward detailed context reading and outward literature research.This thesis attempts to make a holistic exploration and summary of Shen's old-style poetry to show readers a more comprehensive,real and tridimentional Shen Yinmo.This thesis is composed of four parts:introduction,three chapters in the body and conclusion.The introduction mainly includes the meaning and value of Shen's old-style poetry creation.It summarizes the general situation of Shen's literary creation,and concludes the evaluation and research system of his old-style poetry,and thus further determines the research direction,significance and value.Chapter One is The History and Change of Style of Shen Yinmo's Old-style Poetry creation.Taking time as the dimension,this chapter divides Shen's poetry creation into three periods,and summarizes the change of style of the three periods combined with his life experience and psychology condition:His early creations show dejection and wailing,while the mid-term creations are more bold and vigorous,and the later creations are mostly based on simplicity and nature.Chapter Two is Genre and Underlying Emotion.Starting from the genres of old-style poetry,this chapter divides Shen's old-style poetry into five categories:love poems,nostalgic poems,chronicle poems,social entertainment poems,and book-commenting poems.These five genres cover almost all of his poems.Through the analysis of different genres,this thesis tries to explore the ideological connotation behind various types of poems.Chapter Three is Classical Origin and Artistic transformation.This chapter discusses the poetic origin and artistic value of Shen's poetry creation from three perspectives:ancient and modern,new and old,and cross-style.The first section analyzes the classical origin of Shen's poetry creation from family cultivation and classical practice.The second section analyzes the modern transformation of Shen's old-style poetry from the view of the intertextuality of old and new poetry.The third section,which extends to Shen&'s identity as a scholar,explores the unique literary significance and aesthetic value of Shen's old-style poetry,starting from the mutual infiltration between calligraphy and poetry.
