Compared with the old time, nowadays,Internet is indispensable for teenagers. At the beginning of 2020,the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak in China. While medical staff are fighting with the virus at the front, most of us were puzzled by all kinds of rumors in the rear.In particular, young Internet users whom have not yet contacted the society and formed a fixed value system. They are easy to be submerged in a large number of information from the Internet, not knowing whether it is true or not. Many studies have found that teenagers lack the ability to evaluate the reliability of network information.Studies have shown that critical thinking skills can help people better judge information online. Therefore,it is an urgent need for school education to enhance the critical thinking skills of teenagers and apply them to real life, and improve the ability of evaluating the reliability of network information.Based on the Cornell Critical Thinking Skills Test-Level X and the basic inquiry task of network information,76 subjects in the first grade of a middle school in Liaoning Province were pretested. After that, all the subjects were divided into an experimental group with 40 people and a control group with 38 people. All the members of the experimental group received the intervention guidance, while the control group did not receive any treatment.Four days after the intervention, all the subjects were tested again in the same way as the pretest. In the end, using SPSS software to analyze the results,to investigate the gender differences of the subjects and the correlation with academic performance,to analyze the correlation between critical thinking and network information reliability assessment, and to analyze the difference of intervention effect. In the basic query task, based on the reasons for judging the reliability ranking of websites to simply classified and coded them. The results are as follows:(1)There is no significant difference in gender between adolescents' critical thinking and Internet information reliability assessment, but there is a significant correlation between critical thinking and academic performance, and the higher the score, the higher the critical thinking.(2)In the basic query task of network information, the standards of using times from high to low are:1.who is the author or what is the website,2.whether the information is based on scientific evidence,3.whether the topic is understood according to the information provided,4.whether the author is familiar with the topic,5.whether the explanation of the answer is consistent with the previous scientific knowledge or other reliable website information,6.writing motivation of author or website. This suggests that adolescents value more author information, scientific evidence, and answers to questions in the assessment process.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between critical thinking and reliability assessment of network information. The higher the critical thinking, the higher the ability to evaluate the reliability of internet information.Inductive reasoning, judgment with observe, deductive reasoning are significantly related to the reliability evaluation of network information.(4)After the intervention, the results of critical thinking and network information reliability evaluation show that the experimental group is significantly different from the control group, and the performance of the experimental group is significantly higher than that of the pretest, while the control group has no significant change in the pretest. It shows that the intervention guidance improves the critical thinking skills of adolescents, and enhances the reliability evaluation ability of Internet information.
