Extreme environmental problems such as energy shortages, global warming and land desertification have always threatened the life of various organisms on the planet. Therefore, how to properly deal with ecological problems has become an urgent task.Scholars in various fields have proposed endless methods to alleviate or solve ecological problems.Among them are linguists, who try to solve various environmental problems from the perspective of ecological linguistics to achieve a harmonious and balanced development between man and ecology. With the improvement of people's cultural literacy and the awareness of ecological consciousness, people realize that to fundamentally solve ecological problems, they must start from human beings, which is the major source of ecological deterioration.Raising people's ecological awareness is a quite basic and effective solution. In order to achieve that purpose, children need be implanted with the corresponding ecological concepts and ecological knowledge,so that they can form good ecological behaviors.Ecological education will fundamentally affect children's value orientation on ecological issues, which will be more conducive to ecological protection. The readers of Grimm's Fairy Tales are mainly children,so it is necessary to carry out an ecological discourse analysis on Grimm's Fairy Tales to study its ecological perspectives.By interpreting ecological relationships reflected from Grimm's Fairy Tales, this thesis analyze what ecological conceptions are expressed in the book and whether they help children form positive ecological consciousness. The study concludes that most of the stories that describe the ecological relationships between people, between humans and nature, and between various organisms in the natural world express ecological concepts of harmonious symbiosis and mutual assistance.Though some stories seem to be inconsistent with such ecological ideas,in-depth exploration shows that real thoughts that they want to express are different from the superficial meaning of those texts. After digging deeper into such stories,it can be concluded that morals contained in the book still accord with ecological concepts.Since the ecological value reflected in Grimm's Fairy Tales is positive, children will receive positive ecological teaching when reading Grimm's Fairy Tales. This article is based on the theoretical framework of Halliday's Systematic Functional Linguistics(SFL)and takes Grimm's Fairy Tales as research data to explore the ecological concepts reflected from the ecological relationships,so as to prove that Grimm's Fairy Tales has a sound ecological impact on children. All in all,Grimm's Fairy Tales is very practical and useful as a children's reading material in helping children develop a healthy ecological outlook.
