Surrealistic painting was introduced to China with Western modern art as early as the 1930s,And a group of young artists followed to create similar painting styles. With the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan,neo-realism" was fully promoted and welcomed by societ. Then the practitioners of surrealistic painting also turned to the"anti-Japanese art" camp represented by neo-realism.The practice of printmaking with a strong surrealistic orientation should begin in the "85 New Wave" period after reform and opening up.And it paves the way for the surreal-oriented printmaking of the"post-80s" youths in China at this stage.Compared with other generations, the surreal-oriented printmaking of the "post-80s"presents a completely new look, showing different characteristics in the creative theme, creative tone, creative content and expression. Its exploratory and innovative nature has been universally recognized by the society, and has formed a relatively stable creative model, bringing more possibilities for the diversity of printmaking creation. This article is composed of three parts:introduction, text and conclusion.First,it summarizes the historical background of the spread and exploration of surrealistic painting in China in the 1930s and the "85 New Wave" period, and guides the creation of"80s" surrealistic prints that have gradually drawn attention.Secondly, taking the more mature "post-80s" printmakers as an example, the characteristics of "post-80s"surrealistic prints are summarized into two categories:misplacement of multiple spaces and abnormal combinations of realistic imagery.Thirdly, the causes of the surrealistic orientation in "post-80s" printmaking are analyzed from three aspects. They are the transformation of cultural and artistic creative models during the reform and opening up period, the impact of network information on artistic creation, and the artist's physical and psychological experience. Finally,it expounds the inheritance and development of the "post-80s" creators' exploration of the surreal-oriented printmaking in the "85 New Wave" period, and discusses the impact on the artistic concepts and creative orientations of the new generation of creators.
