As an integral branch of Applied Psychology, also named as Psychological Impediment, Abnormal Mentality, or Behavioral Impediment, Abnormal Psychology is a subject aiming to conduct studies on the abnormality of people's psychology in the eyes of contemporary psychologists, which is by all means a critical step towards the further exploring the health of people's mentality and the most effective treatment of abnormal mentality. This dissertation will call into question the prevailing definition of "abnormal mentality" and "abnormal behaviors" in consultation with traditional Chinese culture, which will be beneficial to the modification and redefinition of "Abnormal Psychology". First of all, this study is to be dealt with by the dividing of Abnormal Mentality into two branches—Abnormal Individual Mentality and Abnormal Group Mentality, and carry on the study respectively and comprehensively. In the second place, this study will unveil the characteristics of Abnormal Mentality and the ancient treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine ("TCM" for short) as well, in particular Confucian and Taoist treatments. Besides, the research will make references to modern signification about the study to show that the author's doesn't mean to make this research just for the ancient people, which also will be of great value to the study of the current Chinese people 's abnormal mentality.
