Community drinking ceremony is a public ceremony in ancient China aimed at promoting virtuous people, providing for the aged and promoting enlightenment. As the ideal medium for Confucianism to implement kingcraft's politics in grass-roots society, the community drinking ceremony has been playing an irreplaceable role in social practice, even extending the ideological tentacles of governing grass-roots society to the most grass-roots level in some way.Because of this,it is especially valued by rulers of all dynasties. In Song Dynasty, the implementation of community drinking ceremony was closely related to social development. The Northern Song Dynasty's "Luming Banquet" was developed on the basis of the function of "Binggong" as a drinking ritual in Tang Dynasty. One of its most prominent features was the chanting of poems. The community drinking ceremony interacted with the rural conventions and local clans and infiltrated with each other in Southern Song Dynasty. In addition,Zhu Xi revised the community drinking ceremony, which simplified the etiquette and promoted the holding of community drinking ceremony in Southern Song Dynasty. The holding of the community drinking ceremony required financial support in policy. However, due to financial shortage, lack of national policy support and the complexity with high specifications of the community drinking ceremony itself, the community drinking ceremony inevitably declined in the late Southern Song Dynasty.Looking at the point of implementation on community drinking ceremony in Song Dynasty,it still played an important role that cannot be ignored, such as selecting the talented and stabilizing social order. Moreover,it also affected the holding of community drinking ceremonies in Ming Dynasty.
