In recent years, with the continuous researches of teaching,Ellis published a special issue on the role of frequency in second language acquisition in Studies in Second Language Acquisition and pointed out that frequency is the decisive factor in language acquisition, which has attracted the attention of teachers and scholars. Many research results reveal that frequency is important in second language acquisition and plays an indispensable role in second language acquisition theory. However, there are inconsistent results in the input modalities and frequency in the studies of second language acquisition,so it is necessary to make further studies on it.This study mainly explores the impact of input frequency on the acquisition of vocabulary and reading comprehension with the same input frequency in the second language acquisition. This study is based on the theory of input.Through taking the reading comprehension proficiency test score, vocabulary size test score and midterm test score in this semester as the consideration elements,we choose six participants who have the similar English proficiency level as the subjects. The vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension as the research contents.Based on the existing research results and a large amount of literature reading, the study uses variety of research methods and tries to find out what input frequency will achieve on vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension and which interval of input frequency will achieve the best acquisition of vocabulary and reading comprehension. The studies questions as follow:(1)What is the effect of input frequency on vocabulary acquisition for junior school students;(2)What is the effect of input frequency on reading comprehension for junior school students. The experiment is divided into five stages, namely, the pretest, vocabulary and reading input stage, vocabulary and reading output stage, the delayed test stage, data collation and analysis stage.First, the subjects take the Vocabulary Five Scale(Vocabulary Knowledge Scale,VKS)based on the vocabulary familiarity of the Paribakht and Wesche(1997)to determine the 10 target words. The input stage includes six times input frequency on vocabulary and reading comprehension. The output stage involves that the subjects finish the target VKS scale,do the reading comprehension questions and explain each question to check the students' understanding of the passage. The delayed test takes after a week, mainly to observe the subjects' grasp of the target words and reading comprehension changes with time.Through the results and the data analysis show that(1)the acquisition of the target vocabulary increases with the increasing of input frequency and the optimal input interval is 4-6 times, but it's not that the more input frequencies, the better;(2)Input frequency plays a significant role in the acquisition of reading comprehension, and the acquisition is increasing steadily with the increase of deep understanding on the reading comprehension. But the results show that the input frequency effect is obvious in the early stages of the learning process, and then this effect gradually stabilized and steady. The acquisition of reading comprehension is improved with the increasing of input frequency, but it's not that the more input frequencies, the better. The best input interval for reading comprehension is 4-6 times. At the same time,it should be noted that input frequency is not the only factor that affects vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension.
