The informationization of social life and the globalization of economy make English increasingly important.As a carrier of information,English has become the most widely used language in all fields of human society.English ability has become a necessary skill.Especially,in China,textbooks play a important role in English study for high school students.The reading texts are the main source of linguistic input.However,the author found that there are a few researches which attempt to survey reading materials of NSEFC.Therefore,this paper analyzes and evaluates the reading section of NSEFC in order to help users to further understand the textbooks and improve their teaching methods so as to improve students' interest in learning English.This study focus on NSEFC with the organic combination of internal and external to examine rending materials.The thesis aims to answer the following questions:1)Whether the topic,genre,length,grammar of reading materials in good agreement with the new curriculum? 2)Does reading materials satisfy teachers' teaching requirements and students learning needs? First of all,the author analyzes the reading materials based on text analysis theory,and studies the compatibility of reading materials with the new curriculum in terms of topic,genre,length and grammar.Secondly,questionnaire s were given to teachers and students to understand their satisfaction with the reading materials and put forward constructive suggestions.Through comparative study we can draw the conclusion: First of all the reading1 materials in the topic,genre length,grammar,and general high school English curriculum standard are highly consistent.However,there are some still deficiencies in reading materials.For example,For example,part of the topics is missing and not close enough to student life,the reading materials too long or too short is not contribute tostudents' understanding of the reading materials and the overall structure.,part of the lack of grammar leads to insufficient connection,which is not conducive to students' mastery of grammar knowledge,the proportion of some types of reading materials is not consistent with the reading style of college entrance examination Secondly,it was found that teachers and students had higher evaluation of reading materials.It is believed that the reading materials can meet the teaching and learning needs of students and teachers.Most students think they can learn lots of linguistic knowledge from reading materials.But there are still many students who do not have enough recognition of the topic and grammar of reading materials.Through the above analysis and evaluation,the study makes the following suggestions.First,teachers should pay attention to the summary and the training of phonetic knowledge,and train students to develop various skills in a coordinated way.Secondly,in the face of some topics missing and longer or shorter articles,teachers can make appropriate adjustments and additions to enhance students' interest.Thirdly,students should change their learning style,improve their learning autonomy and active participation in classroom teaching activities.Fourthly,textbook writers should also pay attention to the combination of texts and times and follow the students' level of cognitive development,which strive to improve students' interest in English learning.
