Practical writing usually plays an important role in English teaching in senior high school.There are many problems in terms of the current situation of English teaching in senior high school.Teachers rarely set up special English writing courses in the teaching process,and they always pay more attention to the input of knowledge than the output in English writing class.As a result,students do not have a set of systematic and effective methods to deal with the task of practical writing,and there are some problems,such as poor writing foundation,vague content and rusty skills.Based on the input hypothesis,output hypothesis and other theories,and according to the unique situation of Chinese students' English learning,Prof.Wen and her team put forward a new method which is more suitable for English teaching in China.After that,Zhang Wenjuan and Zhang Lingli proved the unique role of Production-oriented Approach in improving students' writing ability through experimental research.After studying the relevant literatures of the Production-oriented Approach,the author finds that the Production-oriented Approach can theoretically solve the problems existing in English practical writing teaching in senior high school,and puts forward the following assumptions: 1)Production-oriented Approach can stimulate students' interest in practical English writing in senior high school;2)Production-oriented Approach can improve students' performance in practical English writing in senior high school.The subjects in this experiment are the freshmen in senior high school in Daqing,and there were 52 students in the experimental group and 57 students in the control group.In the preparatory stage,the author studies the literature to master the Production-oriented Approach,and the author completes the teaching design and material collection of writing courses in this semester.In the process of the experiment,the Production-oriented Approach was applied to practical writing teaching in the experimental group,while the process method was applied in the control group for four months.Before the experiment,the author conducted a questionnaire survey and a pre-writing test for the students to ensure that there was no significant difference in writing level and attitude between the two classes.In the experiment,the teacher always followed the teaching process of output-input-output.Before the end of the experiment,the author conducted a questionnaire survey and a post writing test to analyze the changes of students' writing achievements and attitude.At last,the author interviewed the students and the teacher of the experimental group to get more accurate understanding of their views on the practical writing class under the guidance of the Production-oriented Approach.At the end of the experiment,the author analyzes the data obtained in the experiment,including the results of questionnaires and writing tests before and after the experiment,as well as the results of interviews with students and the teacher in the experimental class.The experimental results show that the Production-oriented Approach can effectively improve students' interest in writing and stimulate students' enthusiasm of writing after it is applied to the teaching of practical English writing in senior high school.Comparing with the process mothed,the Production-oriented Approach can improve students' writing performance more efficiently.It is worth mentioning that the writing system of most of the students in the experimental group has been greatly improved.
