The "gaze theory" of modern western aesthetics is a visual cultural theory that reflects the relationship between subject and object from various levels of culture, society, and art.It involves many aspects such as desire and power, identity and opposition, viewing and being viewed,It is a rhetorical question about human identity. This article studies the "gaze theory" of the three philosophers Lacan,Foucault, and Nancy. While focusing on the analysis of the different characteristics of the three-person theory,it sorts out the theoretical context of "gaze" in academic history,in order to "gaze" at modern aesthetics."Thinking" is a perspective that has both integrity and depth. The first part is the overall interpretation of "gaze theory",including two topics: one, trace the origin of gaze theory from the level of myths and legends and the meaning of words;second, explore the flourishing of modern gaze theory. The second part explains Lacan's "gaze of desire".From Lacan's point of view, people are others from the beginning, their own desires are other people's desires, and gaze is the intermediary between the self-desire and the desires of others. The third part analyzes Foucault's power gaze.Gaze in Foucault's context is a tool for discipline.Foucault started from different aspects of power discourse composed in different places, and gaze in painting, revealing the inversion of subject and object in gaze. The fourth part analyzes Nancy's artistic gaze. The gaze in the context of Nancy relies on portrait painting;in his eyes, portrait painting is no longer just a cold material for people to watch, but has become a "live" object to gaze the viewer in reverse. In addition,Nancy reversed the portrait to the subject's dimension, opening a new world of gaze. This chapter discusses Nancy's gaze theory from the perspective of the other and himself. The fifth part summarizes the similarities and differences of the three-person theory. The commonality of the three people is reflected in "otherness","psychedelic","critical","constructive" and other aspects.Their differences are concentrated on different aspects such as "level","direction","emotion" and "other".It can be found from the discussion of the three people that modern people's "seeing" is no longer purely physical body behavior, but "being watched" under the influence of culture, society, psychology and other aspects;it The subject loses the initiative through opposition or identification.Although the subject knows nothing about it,the reality is that the self has been completely alienated in this process.
