There are many researches on prototype category theory and semantic representation, but there are few researches on the semantic representation of native speakers and second language learners based on prototype category theory. Therefore, based on the prototype category theory, this study adopts the paradigm of semantic classification to explore whether Chinese second speakers can construct semantic category representation similar to that of Chinese native speakers. This study firstly reviews the reason and meaning of the topic, the theoretical basis and the research on the semantic category of prototype at home and abroad.Secondly,on the basis of reviewing the previous research results, this paper focuses on the issue to be further discussed in this study.Based on the prototype semantic category, the task of vocabulary judgment is used to explore whether Chinese native speakers can construct semantic category representation and Chinese second speakers can construct semantic category representation similar to that of native speakers.Experiment 1 is the experiment design of single factor subjects. The Chinese native speakers classify the typical words and atypical words by the task of vocabulary judgment, and explore whether the Chinese native speakers can construct semantic category representation.Experiment 2 is a mixed experimental design of two factors.Chinese native speakers and Chinese second speakers classify and judge three typical types of vocabulary to explore whether Chinese second speakers can construct semantic category representation similar to that of Chinese native speakers. The results of this study show that Chinese native speakers can establish the representation of "typical-atypical" semantic categories.Middle and high level Chinese second speakers can construct semantic category representation similar to that of Chinese native speakers. Moreover, both the typical type and Chinese proficiency will affect the representation of semantic categories.
