A Study Of Chen Pu's On History Poems

Chen Pu is a disciple of Zhu Xi by direct line,the Neo-Confucianist and historical poet in the Southern Song Dynasty.The academic community pays attention to the study of some famous historical poets and their poetic works in the Song Dynasty,but seldom pays attention to the little-known poets like Chen Pu.Chen Pu's poems on History are with a distinct color of Neo-Confucianism,which plays an important role in studying the development and evolution of historical poems in the Song Dynasty.This paper attempts to take Chen Pu's on History poems as the research object to explore such as his thought,self-annotation,creation tendency and so on.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part combs the current research situation of historical poems in the Song Dynasty,summarizes and analyzes the current research situation,points out the gaps and deficiencies in the research on Chen Pu's on History poems at present,and explains research ideas.The first chapter is about the Chen Pu's life and the version of his on History poems.Xue Kongxun's carving copy(renewal edition of The Si Ku Quan Shu)about the volume 22 of Poetry Collection of Mr.Shitang in the third reign year of the Emperor Wanli in Ming Dynasty is used as the research maseter copy which shall be excellent version for proofreading at present.The second chapter classifies the characters of on History poems and discusses their ideological position.Chen Pu has a total of 367 on History poems,which are divided into two volumes,and according to the characters as the classification standard,the on History poems are divided into: four categories including emperors,heroes,literati,and female images.The thought of Neo-Confucianism became the mainstream ideology of the society in the Song Dynasty.Under this ideology,Chen Pu's on History poems showed a clear ideological stand of maintaining the orthodox ideology and political order ideology,as well as of appraising things with Confucian principles.The third chapter discusses the creation tendency of Chen Pu's on History poems.His creation tendency is analyzed from three aspects,which are:discussing vertically and horizontally,reversing the old case and bringing forth the new one,taking poetry as the history.The fourth chapter is the exploration of the independent value of the self-annotation of Chen Pu's on History poems.Among the 367 poems in the two volumes of Chen Pu's on History poems,the poems with self-annotations account for 80%,which canbe said numerous.Through the analysis,the independent value of on History poems is reflected in three aspects: self-annotation can clearly express the theme of the poem,can further explain the meaning of poetry,and mark historical facts and allusions.
