Beiyang Navy is China's first navy of modern significance. It completely adopts Western-style weapons and training methods, and its comprehensive strength ranks among the best in Asia. However,in the Sino-Japanese War,this army, which cost a lot of Nuobi, was built over the years, and was greatly disappointed by the military forces that placed high hopes on the field. It was overwhelmed in the battle with the Japanese Navy. Moreover, the impact of this war was far-reaching,which led Japan to leap into the ranks of a powerful country. After this war,China fell all the way to the semi-colonial and semi-feudal fall, sinking into the abyss of being slaughtered by the powers, further aggravating it.The national crisis is plunged into a state of utter danger. The reasons for the Chinese defeat in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 are many, historical, epochal, and national, institutional, and specific to each member of the war, each individual of the Northern Navy, and especially each member of the leading group.Almost all showed bravery and stubborn resistance.Even if they overcome hopelessness, they will not hesitate to serve the country and kill themselves. However,as a field command overall who has an important responsibility for the effectiveness of the war and the trend of the results, the Beiyang Navy's on-the-spot command force is a group with a large number of personnel,a complex composition, and a special formation background. This group grew up in China's special society.Among the background, education background and political ecology, there are some common things. To explore some of the characteristics and problems of this group in its formation and existence, and to consider the stagnation of these problems during wartime,is one of the ways to investigate the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War of1894-1895.
