Although the study of feminism in the field of literature and art in Taiwan of China has only been conducted for three or four decades,the development speed is surprising.In comparison,the history of integrating feminism into the film field is shorter,but its source can be seen.In the context of the in-depth development of Taiwan new cinematic movement,during the 1980 s in Taiwan,directors and films on female issues first appeared in the film industry,but they were just sparks of fire,and women were still marginalized.By the 1990 s,the number of female filmmakers and documentary creators was increasing,and female images were gradually booming.Taiwanese female literature has provided a large number of high-quality creative content for the development of Taiwanese feminism film.Most of the feminism film before the 1990 s were adapted from female novels,and the changes of the subject matter and characterization in female novels have also largely influenced the image language of Taiwan feminism film.In the 1990 s,affected by the spread of western feminist thoughts,the feminist movement began to rise in Taiwan,and many feminist artists have joined this trend.As a piece of many media fields,especially in the early stages of feminism,film is considered as a front of the feminist movement.Taiwan feminism film is used as an ideological tool to correct some stereotypes of women in male-dominated media.During this period,many female images emergedwith confrontational attitudes,independent from mainstream films.Taiwan feminism film Festival was born under this kind of creative situation.Its establishment has made more and more female filmmakers dedicate themselves to image creation for women.For the study of Taiwan feminism film,this thesis mainly discusses the following aspects:The Introduction explains the practical significance,academic value and application value of this topic.The research status and existing problems can be fully understood through the research of domestic and foreign scholars on Taiwan feminism film and feminist films.The first chapter divides feminism film adapted from Taiwan female novels into three periods,from the 1950 s to the 1960 s,the 1970 s to the1980 s,and the 1990 s to the present.It discusses the changes in the roles and identities of Taiwan female writers and women from their works in different real-world times.Summarized from which,Taiwan feminism film as a kind of image text has an intertextual relationship with Taiwan female novels as linguistic text in terms of character images,storylines,and thematic implications.The second chapter first explains the establishment process of the female body codes of Taiwan feminism film with the influence of western feminism on Taiwan female literature and films in the late 1970 s.It adopts Simone de Beauvoir's “the Other” concept and Jacques Lacan's“mirror stage” theory to explain how women in Taiwan 's women 's filmshave changed from the “other” stared in the film to the subject of gaze,and then discusses how the form of Taiwan feminism film transformed from erotic writing to self-expression in terms of changes of topic and narrative mode of Taiwan feminism film.Chapter three first selects several representative works with the subjective consciousness of female eroticism from Taiwan independent film productions,and analyzes how the contemporary Taiwan feminism film establish female subjectivity and break the masculine hegemony in the two aspects of metaphors and similes of female eroticism in female independent images.And then,from the perspective of the creative practice of contemporary Taiwanese female directors,female film participation in social issues and the creation of video history,this chapter expounds the voice of Taiwanese female filmmakers and their deconstruction of masculine hegemony.The conclusion part is based on the current situation of Taiwan feminism film in the production environment,value orientation and social influence.It summarizes the unique discourse characteristics and vision sentiments displayed by the female narrative perspective of Taiwan feminism film,and emphasizes the importance of feminism film in building a gender-equal,harmonious and mutually supportive society.
