The philosophy of life with "light" as beauty and the aesthetic pursuit of landscape painting are mainly influenced by the Taoist thought of LaoZi and ZhuangZi.During the Wei and Jin dynasties, the propositions of Taoism of "quiet inaction" and "conforming to the way of heaven" coincided with the escape of literati and scholar-officials from reality.the seclusion psychology of seeking spiritual comfort in nature coincided with the emergence and development of landscape painting and theoretical works.ZongBing and Wang Wei discussed the beauty of "light" in the works of ZongBing and Wang Wei."Cheng Huai Guan Tao" requires painters to take care of all things with a pure, quiet and indifferent heart, and reflect it to the reading and creation of landscape painting. To the Tang Dynasty,Wang Wei opened the precedent of ink painting, based on ink instead of color, black color is highly respected, the insipid pen and ink,the empty and light artistic conception and the tranquil personality are presented in the landscape painting. In the five dynasties, although Jingguan and Dong Ju's north and south landscapes were different, they all had the meaning of "light" beauty.Dong Yuan, following Wang Wei's light ink painting, was even more insipid and naive. The literati landscape painting advocated by Su Shi in the Song Dynasty took a big step forward in the presentation of the beauty of "light" meaning in landscape painting, with Wang Wei as the head to write the "light" beauty of landscape painting. The Yuan Dynasty was the turning point of literati painting, and the beauty of being "elegant" and "light" was even more insipid.Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty not only combed the vein of literati landscape painting, but also put forward the theory of "Southern and Northern sect".Although it is not perfect and accurate,it summarizes, expounds and shows the beauty of "light" in landscape painting and has a far-reaching influence. In the Qing Dynasty, the four monks also advocated "light" beauty,Hongren,Jianjiang, but also filled with the meaning of emptiness and emptiness. In order to escape the complexity of the world, the ancients wandered in the mountains, rivers and springs all day,and their indifferent state of mind was mapped to the landscape paintings, and the indifferent and peaceful mood also brought a sense of stability and peace to people. The philosophical aesthetic thought, personality spirit and landscape painting creation with "light" as beauty have also had an important impact on later generations, and this cool wind has not dissipated. The description of "elegant" in Huang Kui's "24 paintings" is "white clouds","breeze","clear water" and "sound of piano".The scene of light clouds and light wind is like a poem, which makes people's heart ripple, and sorrow dissipates with the wind."Light is a simple style, which represents a kind of natural unmodified beauty and embodies a kind of supreme truth." In order to achieve a free and unhindered state in artistic creation,we need a quiet, peaceful and indifferent heart.Only without desire and without desire can we understand the state of nature, truth and beauty."light" is the ultimate taste of life,it is natural, simple, quiet, indifferent, but also ethereal, clear, insipid, naive. If people want to achieve inner peace, they must eliminate all kinds of desires and temptations and get freedom and liberation in spirit. This paper is mainly written from four parts, the first part is the origin of the study, literature review, research significance and research methods. The second part is the presentation of the beauty of the meaning of "light" in the development of Chinese landscape painting, taking the important aesthetic concepts or art movement as the node, and writing about the beauty of "light" in the development of Chinese landscape painting. The third part is that "light" has become a general consensus on the elegance of landscape painting. The fourth part is exploring the experience of “light” in landscape painting.
