In recent years,Schubert's last three piano sonatas were studied in the domain of their background,style,features,composition techniques and pianism.However,phrase accent and the rest in one or more bars' duration have received little scholarly attention.This study comparedphrase accents between recordings of famous pianists and investigated the perception of the rest in one or more bars' duration.The thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which covers the reason and background of the topic,the research questions and significance,the literature review,the research content and methods,etc..The second chapter explains the background and structure of Schubert's last three piano sonatas.Chapter 3 analyzes the characteristics of phrase stress in Schubert's last three piano sonatas,and finds out the special expression of phrase stress through analysis.Chapter 4 is the author's analysis of the use of breaks in whole measures.By elaborating the meaning of breaks in whole measures,the author analyzes and analyzes the public's preference for the length of breaks in whole measures in the works,so as to provide performance suggestions for performers.Chapter 5 is conclusions and reflections.It is hoped that this study can help piano learners to have a more comprehensive and detailed understanding of the last three piano sonatas,and provide some references better play these three piano sonatas.
