Open Educational Resources Movement is an important global trend of educational development in the era of educational globalization and informatization.MOOCs are open courses offered by way of online learning mostly free of charge to all kinds of students from every corner of the global.Drawing on contents of existing educational and learning models,MOOCs are re-operationalising traditional concepts in education. It is in this context that the translator extracted the first two chapters of Lecture Notes in Educational Technology(LNET):Open Education: from OERs to MOOCs which was published in 2017 as the source text of the translation practice, hoping to provide insights for other educational technology translations. The translator chose Peter Newmark's A Correlative Approach to Translation as the guiding theory. As Newmark applies the correlative approach to translation,he contends that the more important the language of the original or source text is,the more closely it should be translated. As the first two chapters in the technical thesis collection, the source text is written rigorously and full of terminologies, abbreviations, passive voice, and complex sentences in the field of educational technology. When translating technical theses, close translation can be applied to achieve the accuracy in the target text.Close translation can be reflected in vocabulary, sentence and text,in the light of which, the source text's lexical, grammatical and textual issues were analyzed and difficulties and corresponding translation strategies were discussed and summarizes during the translation process. To ensure the completion of the task, the translator makes sufficient preparations, referring to relevant literature and dictionaries, and tabulates a detailed glossary about the educational technology in the stage of pre-translation.Then in the stage of while-translation,the translator first classifies and summarizes various translation issues which significantly facilitate the case analysis in the stage of post-translation,and then corresponding translation strategies are determined under the guidance of Correlative Approach to Translation. Finally, through the summary and rethinking of the translation practice, the translator is obligated to offer suggestions for further translation. The translation report consists of five chapters. The first chapter is a general description of the task.Chapter two describes the translation process from three stages, while chapter three introduces the theoretical background of Peter Newmark's Correlative Approach toTranslation and describes this theory in detail.Chapter four is case analysis,as the key part of this report, presenting 25 examples at lexical, syntactic and discourse levels for detailed analysis. The last chapter is the summary of the report, which concludes how many findings as well as obstacles are found in this translation practice and how similar research should be further implemented.
