A Report On Translation Of General Catalogues Of Parsa Medica And Chito Tech From The Perspective Of Corpus Translation Theory

Corpus linguistics has been regarded as an important aspect of linguistic research since it appeared in the 1950 s.Under the influence of the corpus linguistics,the birth of corpus translation theory creates a new perspective for translation study.Corpus translation theory is widely used in foreign language teaching and discourse research.Few has focused on its application in translation practice,especially the translation in the field of biomedical engineering.Based on the biomedical engineering parallel corpus,this report tries to complete the translation of the general catalogues of two biomedical engineering product manufacturers,Parsa Medica and Chito Tech from the perspective of corpus translation theory.This report aims to translate the biomedical engineering text by analyzing self-built translation corpus.The translation practice helps further cultivate the translator's ability to apply corpus technology to ensure translation accuracy and quality.According to the translation of Parsa Medica and Chito Tech general catalogues which are lists of biomedical engineering products,it is shown something new is found: First,the analysis on biomedical engineering parallel corpus is of significance to translation of biomedical engineering text,specifically to grasp the characteristics of the selected text.Second,the retrieval of biomedical engineering parallel corpus helps translator understand and translate biomedical engineering words and phrases.Third,the analysis on the data of corpus is a rather scientific method to ensure the quality of translation in this project.It is clear that the translation difficulty caused by the professionalism of the translated text can be well compensated and perfected by corpus translation theory.In a word,the completion of this project provides a real case for biomedical English translation from the perspective of corpus translation theory.And through the ideological guidance of this theory,the translation practice has been completed with high quality.Corpus translation theory is a practical method for aiding translation practice and has a very broad prospect in the future.
